Although we wish this name had to do with the color of the Moon, the reality is not quite as mystical; in truth, April’s full Moon often corresponded with the early springtime blooms of a certain wildflower native to eastern North America: Phlox subulata—commonly called creeping phlox or moss phlox—which also went by the name “moss pink.”
Thanks to this seasonal association, this full Moon came to be called the Pink Moon.
April’s Full Pink Moon Is All About A Spiritual Rebirth.
Because full moons finalize the end of a lunar cycle, this event will come with a lot of closure and emotional release. But with the end of one phase comes the start of another.
The Pink Moon isn’t the only name for la luna this time of year. According to the Farmer’s Almanac, the Pink Moon will also double as the Paschal Full Moon, as it is the first full moon of spring and coincides with Easter. It's sometimes referred to as the Awakening Moon, because the “awakening evidenced in the natural world mirrors the spiritual significance of this full moon,” therefore marking a “season of rebirth.”
As the days get longer, brighter, and warmer, you’ll want to spend more time outside. Daffodils and tulips bursting with colour, a reminder that spring is in full swing and we must release the habits of winter hibernation.
For this April full moon, connecting with nature isn’t just encouraged — it’s essential.
We're not designed to live in brick boxes; our roots are that of nature and outdoors so we need to re-establish that connection in preparation for the longer summer days ahead.
The full moon will be in Libra, the sign of balance and harmony - so use this time to check in with relationships and one's work life balance too. (Some good crystals to carry around during this time are Celestite, Rainbow Moonstone, Merlinite & Tourmalinated Quartz and of course always some selenite!)
This is a time to fully focus on the present. We’re past the planning stages and have begun implementing changes we’ve been plotting and planning all Winter.
This full moon is as always with any other full moon, the ideal opportunity to release what no longer serves our highest good. We only have the capacity to take on so much energy and "stuff" in our lives and so a once-a-month clear out is never going to do anyone any harm.
For those in the full swing of manifesting 2023 goals and ideals that they may have planned during the darker winter months, then releasing old thoughts and emotional or mental baggage is essential to travelling light on their journey of 2023.
Keeping track and reflection of one's progress is essential in one's manifestation journey ✨
For the crystal lovers out there - the full moon is ideal to give your beauties a bathe, recharge and a cleanse if that's the intention you set to them.
If you have too many to put out or squeeze on your window sill, fear not as there are other ways to keep your crystals in top form such as sage, palo and even sound.
For those into elixirs - the moon is a great opportunity to create some wonderful moon water.
Hopefully it's warm enough where you are to get out, look up and connect with the moon even for just a short while. No doubt if you do, you will feel an earthly and grounding sense of connection to its magical energy
