Sturgeon Full Moon

Sturgeon Full Moon

🌕 The Sturgeon Full Moon in Pisces ♓

Friday 28 August 2026 | 5:18am BST

This Friday brings us a beautifully intuitive Full Moon in Pisces, reaching its peak at 5:18am here in the UK.

And this isn’t just any Full Moon… it also arrives alongside a partial lunar eclipse, adding another layer of intensity to an already deeply emotional and spiritual Pisces Moon.

Full Moons traditionally illuminate, reveal and bring things to culmination. They can shine a light on what has been sitting beneath the surface, giving us an opportunity to acknowledge it, release it and make space for what comes next.

With this Full Moon falling in Pisces, the final sign of the zodiac, there is an even stronger theme of completion, surrender and letting go.

♓ Full Moon in Pisces

Pisces is a deeply intuitive, sensitive and spiritual water sign associated with dreams, compassion, imagination and our connection to the unseen.

Where Virgo, sitting opposite this Full Moon, wants to analyse, organise and find practical answers, Pisces reminds us that not everything needs to be understood intellectually.

Sometimes we simply need to feel.

This Full Moon may bring emotions bubbling to the surface or heighten your intuition and sensitivity. Dreams may feel particularly vivid, synchronicities may become harder to ignore and you may find yourself craving quiet, meditation or time away from the noise of everyday life.

Pay attention to the little nudges.

That strange thought that appears from nowhere.
The dream you can't stop thinking about.
The person who suddenly comes into your mind.
The feeling in your gut that doesn't quite have a logical explanation.

Pisces asks us to listen beyond the rational mind and reconnect with our intuition.

🌑 A Full Moon Lunar Eclipse

This Full Moon also coincides with a partial lunar eclipse, with around 93% of the Moon entering Earth's darker umbral shadow at maximum eclipse.

Eclipses have long been associated astrologically and spiritually with turning points, endings, revelations and accelerated change.

Rather than trying to force manifestations or control exactly what happens next, we prefer to use eclipse energy for reflection.

Ask yourself:

✨ What am I ready to leave behind?
✨ What emotions or behaviours keep repeating?
✨ What am I holding onto because it feels familiar?
✨ Where is my intuition trying to guide me?
✨ What would happen if I stopped forcing and started trusting?

Sometimes surrender isn't giving up.

It's accepting that something has run its course.

🐟 Why is it called the Sturgeon Moon?

August's Full Moon is traditionally known as the Sturgeon Moon.

The name is associated with North American traditions and the time of year when large sturgeon were particularly abundant and easier to catch in the Great Lakes and other bodies of water.

Other traditional names for August's Full Moon include the Green Corn Moon, Grain Moon and Red Moon.

These old seasonal Moon names remind us how closely our ancestors watched the cycles of nature. Long before calendars, apps and notifications, the Moon helped mark the changing seasons, harvests and rhythms of everyday life.

💎 Five crystals for the Pisces Full Moon

Amethyst – A beautiful crystal for spiritual connection, meditation and accessing your intuition. Its peaceful energy works wonderfully with the sensitive nature of Pisces.

Labradorite – A stone of transformation, intuition and protection. Perfect when things are shifting and you are being encouraged to trust where you are being guided.

Moonstone – Deeply connected with lunar cycles, intuition and our emotional world. Use it to help you flow with change rather than resisting it.

Aquamarine – Closely associated with Pisces and the element of water. A calming crystal for emotional release, communication and allowing feelings to move rather than becoming stuck.

Clear Quartz – The master amplifier. Use Clear Quartz alongside your other crystals to amplify your intentions and bring clarity to anything this Full Moon reveals.

✨ Working with this Full Moon

Find somewhere quiet and allow yourself a little time without distractions.

Sit with your chosen crystals, meditate, journal or simply close your eyes and notice what comes through.

Rather than creating a huge list of things you want to manifest, use this Full Moon to ask:

What am I finally ready to release?

Write down whatever comes up without judging it.

You can then safely tear up or burn the paper as a symbolic act of release.

Because this Full Moon occurs during an eclipse, we personally wouldn't use this Moon to charge our crystals outside. Eclipse energy can be intense and unpredictable, so we'd choose to work with our crystals during the Full Moon instead, cleansing them afterwards using your usual preferred method.

Pisces teaches us that we don't always have to know where the river is taking us.

Sometimes we simply need to stop fighting the current. 💖🌕✨
