Crocolite

Crocolite is an exceptionally rare and visually striking mineral recognised for its vibrant fiery orange to deep red prismatic crystal formations. Historically, the name Crocolite was used for what is now more widely known as Crocoite, a lead chromate mineral that forms delicate, elongated crystals which often grow in radiant sprays. These formations can appear almost flame-like, giving the crystal a powerful visual presence.

High-quality Crocolite specimens are considered extremely collectible due to both their rarity and fragile nature. The most famous deposits come from Tasmania in Australia, where some of the finest crystals in the world have been discovered. Because these crystals are brittle and difficult to extract intact, well-formed specimens are rarely seen in the commercial crystal market.

At The Kent Crystal Cave we only occasionally manage to obtain Crocolite, and when pieces do arrive they tend to be among the rarest minerals we stock.
